Commercial treehouses and glamping accommodation

The Treehouse Guide Commercial

Commercial treehouses have become an increasingly important part of the UK's glamping and tourism industry. Glamping showed that people love being close to nature but do not necessarily want the discomfort of traditional camping. Tents, tipis, yurts and cabins became more and more sophisticated. Treehouses take the idea further still.

What guests expect

  • Comfortable bedrooms
  • Bathrooms
  • Kitchens
  • Heating
  • Electricity
  • Large windows
  • Private balconies and outdoor seating
  • Luxury interiors

A modern luxury treehouse can provide all of that while still giving guests the feeling of being immersed in nature. For landowners and tourism businesses it creates an accommodation experience that is fundamentally different from a hotel room or a holiday cottage.

Why commercial is different

A commercial treehouse is substantially more involved than a private garden treehouse. Planning permission, Building Regulations, fire safety, access and the other regulatory requirements all have to be considered from the outset, and the intended use has a big effect on the design and specification. A treehouse intended for holiday lets needs considerably more infrastructure than a private retreat.

Our experience of designing and building unusual bespoke structures means we can work with you from the earliest stage of a commercial project, helping establish what is possible on a particular site before any money is committed.
